Look at this beauty! This crochet Christmas wreath is so adorable! But, I’m not going lie to you, as well as that it is so time consuming to make.
For the base I used 12” (30 cm) foam wreath which I wrapped in blue and white crochet cover. At the beginning I was planning to make it only blue, but then run out of yarn 😃
After completing wreath cover in addition to that, I made 25 different size balls, snowman, and Christmas tree.
If you want to have this amazing crochet Christmas wreath on your doors too, follow my instructions below. Only one thing I suggest, use it indoors only.

Wreath cover
Make chain of 35 st. Start crocheting from chain 2. Every row will start with ch 1.
***I suggest that you check around your wreath to make sure that 34 stitches will be enough. It depends on the thickness of yarn/hook and size of your wreath you are going to use. Recently I made another wreath, yarn was a bit thicker and only 30 stitches was enough for me.***
Rows from 1 to 126 will be made from blue yarn and rows from 127 to 227 from white.
Row 1-227: sc in all 34 st [34]
Finish off and leave very long tail for sewing.
Now we have long crocheted wreath cover which we will need to wrap around and stitch together onto the wreath.
When you wrap your crocheted strip around the wreath make sure that you match up the rows. Now take your tapestry needle and start stitch it together. It always looks like it won’t work out, but keep matching up the beginning of the row to the end of the same row and it will all come together with no lumps or bumps at the end.
Snowballs
In total I made 25 snowballs. For snowballs we are going to use white yarn and we are making 3 different types:
- Big snowballs – make 8 of them
- Medium snowballs – make 10 of them
- Small snowballs – make 7 of them.
Of course, you can make different quantities.

Bunting
Firstly, we are going to make 4 triangles out of white yarn.
Chain 5, SC in second chain from hook, HDC in next, DC in next two, TC in last. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Secondly, we are going to chain 10 (or so) and then single crochet into the top of the flags. Chain 5 in between the flags.
For letters I used blue felt and glue gun.
Snowman and Christmas tree
Pattern for snowman you will find here and pattern for Christmas tree here.
Now we have all our part for crochet Christmas wreath and can move to assembly.
Assembly
For assembly you have easy or hard way to choose 😊 Easy way is gluing everything to wreath with glue gun, or hard way is to attach everything with tapestry needle and yarn. I mixed it up – I attached snowman and balls with tapestry needle and yarn, but glued bunting and Christmas tree. After all our crochet Christmas wreath looks like in the picture below:
