Wreath cover
We are going to use 2 colours for our wreath cover – grey and white.
Make chain of 31 st and begin crocheting from chain 2. Every row will start with ch 1.
***I suggest that you check around your wreath to make sure that 30 stitches will be enough. It depends on the thickness of yarn/hook and size of your wreath you are going to use.***
Start with grey yarn.
Rows 1-106(107 rows): ch 1, sc in all 30 st [30]
Change yarn to white colour.
Rows 107-160(53 rows): ch 1, sc in all 30 st [30]
Finish off and leave very long tail for sewing.
When you wrap your crocheted strip around the wreath make sure that you match up the rows and colours. Now take your tapestry needle and start stitch it together, change yarn colour on the needle every time colour changes on the wreath. It always looks like it won’t work out, but keep matching up the beginning of the row to the end of the same row and it will all come together with no lumps or bumps at the end.
Crochet Christmas presents
Next step will be making crochet Christmas presents. Pick your own colours as it’s very good little project for yarn leftovers.
I made four presents: two bigger ones and two little ones. For each crochet Christmas present you’ll need to make 2 sides.
For bigger crochet Christmas present make chain 11 and start crocheting from chain 2:
Round 1-9: sc in next 10 st [10]
Finish off first one with sl st but don’t finish off second one.
Put them together and single crochet around. Stuff slightly before finishing and finish off with sl st.
Now take white yarn and single crochet as it shown in the picture below. To make a bow on the top of our present: chain 10, sl st at the very first chain, chain 10 again and sl st at the very first chain. Finish off.
For little presents repeat all same steps as with big ones, but our base chain will be a bit smaller:
Make chain 9 and start crocheting from chain 2:
Round 1-8: sc in next 8 st [8]
Finished presents:
Crochet Christmas Wreath assembly
So as now you have all wreath decorations ready (6 white crochet starts, crochet Christmas tree and crochet Christmas presents) it’s time for assembly. I used glue gun for attaching our decorations to the wreath.
Just use your imagination where and how to place your decorations. As you see, my example is displayed below:
