Crochet stocking

Crochet stocking – tiny edition

In this crochet tutorial you are going to find how to make this tiny crochet stocking which is perfect decoration for your Christmas tree ☺

As well as that, it’s great project for using your yarn leftovers – any colour can be used!

Finished crochet stocking size is approximately 8 cm (3″) tall – but please mind, the size of finished product may vary due the size of hook and yarn you are going to use.

Start crocheting with your preferred stocking yarn colour, as you see in my case it’s orange.

This pattern is not continuous rounds, it means you will have to finish each round with sl st into very first stitch.

Round 1: 6 sc into magic ring [6]

Round 2: ch 2, (hdc inc) repeat 6 times [12]

Round 3: ch 2, (hdc, hdc inc in next st) repeat 6 times [18]

Round 4-7 (4 rounds): ch 2, hdc in next 18 st [18]

In next few rows we are going to create our crochet stocking heel.

Leave your yarn attached to the stocking, but we are not going to use it for next 3 rows as we are going to work on the heel with different yarn colour. Move 2 stitches away from our round beginning and attach white yarn – hook yarn through stitch to create a loop and pull yarn through to create a slip stitch.

Afterwards, in next 11 stitches follow the sequence: sc, hdc, hdc, dc, dc, dc, dc, dc, hdc, hdc, sc.

After finishing this sequence start working back with the same sequence: sc, hdc, hdc, dc, dc, dc, dc, dc, hdc, hdc, sc.

Finally, again work backwards with the same sequence: sc, hdc, hdc, dc, dc, dc, dc, dc, hdc, hdc, sc.

That’s our heel is complete. Cut white yarn off and finish with sl st. After that we are going back to work on our main stocking body.

From now continue working with orange yarn:

Round 8: ch 2, hdc in the same st, hdc in next st, 11 hdc into heel (1 hdc in each st), hdc in next 5 st [18]

Round 9-12 (4 rounds): ch 2, hdc in next 18 st [18]

Change yarn colour to white.

Round 13: ch 2, hdc in next 18 st [18]

Finish off with sl st and our crochet stocking is done, congratulations 😊
