Crochet Baubles (3 Options)

It’s that time of the year, when we secretly starting to prepare for Christmas ❄🎅🤶 And why not to make some handmade crochet baubles? They could be perfect addition to the list of presents. Or even great decoration for your own Christmas tree 🎄 

Show me the person, who wouldn’t like something handmade and made with love as a present? 😊 And in this post I am going to share with you 3 easy and quick crochet baubles patterns for you to choose, or even make them all? 

These crochet Christmas baubles are easy to make and perfect for random yarn leftovers, which you, same as me, keep pilling up  somewhere 🙄😀

We will work in rounds and finish each round with SL ST. Each bauble will be made out of 2 identical parts which will be connected together during assembly.

Tools and materials:
Abbreviations:

ST – stitch  

CH – chain  

DC – double crochet 

DC INC – double crochet increase 

DC3TOG – 3 double crochet joined together (create three partial double crochets in three separate stitches and then complete them all at once).  

DC2TOG – double crochet decrease 

SP ST – spike stitch 

HDC – half double crochet 

Crochet Baubles Option 1

These crochet baubles will be made using 3 colours – torquise, light blue and white.

Make 2 indentical parts and leave long tail for sewing when finishing off first part.

Round 1 (made of turquoise yarn): magic circle, CH 2 (counts as DC), 11 DC, join with SL ST into top of first DC. Fasten off colour [12] 

Bauble after finishing round 1:



Round 2 (made of white yarn): CH 2 (counts as DC), DC into same ST, then repeat this sequence in each ST 11 times x (DC INC), join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [24] 

Bauble after finishing round 2:

After finishing round 2 make a slip stitch to move beginning of our round into gap created by CH1 from the previous round.

Round 3 (made of light blue yarn): CH 2 (counts as DC), 2 DC, CH1, (3 DC between DC from previous round) x 11 timesjoin with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2 [36] 

Bauble after finishing round 3: 

Round 4 (made of light blue yarn): CH2 (counts as DC), DC2TOG, CH 3 (DC3TOG, CH 2x 11 timesjoin with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [36] 

Bauble after finishing round 4: 

After finishing round 4 make a slip stitch to move beginning of our round into gap created by CH 3 from the previous round. 

Round 5 (made of white yarn): CH 2 (counts as DC), 2 x DC into CH of 3 from previous round, CH1, (3 DC and CH 1 in CH 3 from previous round) x 11 times, join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2 [36] 

Bauble after finishing round 5:

Round 6 (made of white yarn): CH2 (counts as DC), DC2TOG, CH 3 (DC3TOG, CH 3) x 11 times, join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [48] 

Bauble after finishing round 6:

Round 7 (made of turquoise yarn): CH2 (counts as DC), 4 x DC into CH of 3 from previous round, (5 DC in CH 3 from previous round) x 11 times, join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2 [60] 

Bauble after finishing round 7:



Finish off, leave long tail for sewing for the first half, second half doesn’t need long tail. 

Tidy up all lose ends.

Afterwards, using tapestry needle and long tail for seewing stitch both sides of crochet baubles together with plastic bauble inside:

Crochet Baubles Option 2

These crochet baubles will be made using only 2 colours – white and red.

Make 2 indentical parts and leave long tail for sewing when finishing off first part.

Round 1 (made of white yarn): magic circle, CH 2 (counts as DC), 11 DC, join with SL ST into top of first CH 2. Join with SL ST into top of beginning DC. Fasten off colour [12] 

Bauble after finishing round 1: 

Round 2 (made of red yarn): join red yarn in any space between DC of previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), DC in the same ST, (DC INC in each space) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [24] 

Bauble after finishing round 2: 



Round 3 (made of white yarn): join white yarn in any space between DC of previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), 2 DC in the same ST, (3 DC in each space) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [36] 

Bauble after finishing round 3: 

Round 4 (made of red yarn): join red yarn in any space between DC of previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), 2 DC in the same ST, (3 DC in each space) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [36] 

Bauble after finishing round 4: 

Round 5 (made of white yarn): join white yarn in any space between DC of previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), 2 DC in the same ST, (3 DC in each space) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [36] 

Bauble after finishing round 5: 

Round 6 (made of red yarn): join red yarn in any space between DC of previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), 2 DC in the same ST, CH 1, (3 DC in each space, CH 1) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [36] 

Bauble after finishing round 6:

Round 7 (made of white yarn): join white yarn in any space between DC of previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), 2 DC in the same ST, CH 1, (3 DC in each space, CH 1) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [48] 

Bauble after finishing round 7:

Bauble after finishing round 8: 

Round 9 (made of white yarn): join red yarn in any DC of previous round. CH 1 (counts as SC), SC in next 48 ST. Fasten off colour [48]

Finish off, leave long tail for sewing for the first half, second half doesn’t need long tail.

These crochet baubles will be made using 4 colours – torquise, light blue, dark blue and purple.

Make 2 indentical parts and leave long tail for sewing when finishing off first part.

Round 1 (made of dark blue yarn): magic circle, CH 2 (counts as DC), 11 DC, join with SL ST into top of first CH 2. Join with SL ST into top of beginning DC. Fasten off colour [12] 

Bauble after finishing round 1: 

Round 2 (made of turquoise yarn): join turquoise yarn in any space between DC of previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), DC in the same ST, (DC INC in each space) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [24] 

Bauble after finishing round 2: 



Round 3 (made of light blue yarn): join light blue yarn in any space between DC of previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), DC in the same ST, CH 1, (DC INC in each space, CH 1) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [36] 

Bauble after finishing round 3: 

Round 4 (made of purple yarn): join purple yarn in any first out of 2 DC from previous round. CH 1 (counts as SC), SC in next ST, SP ST 1 row below (into turquoise colour), (SC in next 2 ST, SP ST 1 row below (into turquoise colour)) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [36] 

Bauble after finishing round 4: 

Round 5 (made of dark blue yarn): join dark blue in any space between SC from previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), 2 DC in the same ST, CH 1 skip 2 SC, (3 DC in each space, CH 1, skip 2 SC) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [48] 

Bauble after finishing round 5: 

Round 6 (made of turquoise yarn): join turquoise yarn in any stitch from previous round. CH 1 (counts as SC), SC in next 47 ST. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 1. Fasten off colour [48] 

Bauble after finishing round 6: 

Round 7 (made of light blue yarn): join light blue yarn in any stitch from previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), DC in next 47 ST. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [48] 

Bauble after finishing round 7: 

Round 8 (made of purple yarn): join purple yarn in any stitch from previous round, try to align it with first DC from round 5. CH 1 (counts as SC), SC in next 2 ST, SP ST 2 rows below (into gat made by CH 1 in round 5), (SC in next 3 ST, SP ST 2 rows below (into gat made by CH 1 in round 5)) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 1. Fasten off colour [48] 

Bauble after finishing round 8: 



Round 9 (made of dark blue yarn): join dark blue in any SC from previous round. CH 2 (counts as DC), DC in next ST, CH 2, skip 2 SC, (DC in next 2 ST, CH 2, skip 2 SC) x 11 times. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [48] 

Bauble after finishing round 9: 

Round 10 (made of turquoise yarn): join turquoise yarn in any stitch from previous round. CH 2 (counts as HDC), HDC in next 47 ST. Join with SL ST into top of beginning CH 2. Fasten off colour [48] 

Bauble after finishing round 10: 

Finish off, leave long tail for sewing for the first half, second half doesn’t need long tail. 

Tidy up all lose ends.
