Crochet Bingo

In this crochet tutorial we are going to make little Bluey’s sister – crochet Bingo. Besides, if you would like to make crochet Bluey toy in addition to this crochet Bingo, you can find free crochet tutorial for Bluey here 🙂 

If you are going to use same yarn (Dolce YarnArt velvet) and same crochet hook (3.5mm) as I have used for this project, you will end up with 37cm (14.5inch) tall crochet Bingo toy. 

As I used velvet yarn, this crochet Bingo is very soft to touch and will be perfect present for little Bluey and Bingo fan.

Abbreviations (US terms): 

SC – single crochet 

CH – chain

Main body

We are going to start with light orange yarn and finish off with dark orange yarn.   

Using light orange yarn start with chain of 19 stitches. Following this, start round number 1 from the second chain and work in continuous circles. 

Round 1: SC in next 17 ST, 3 SC into next ST, working on the other side of the chain: SC in next 17 ST, 3 SC into next ST [40] 

Round 2: SC in next 17 ST, (INC) x repeat 3 times, working on the other side of the chain: SC in next 17 ST, (INC) x repeat 3 times [46] 

Round 3: SC in next 17 ST, (INC) x repeat 6 times, working on the other side of the chain: SC in next 17 ST, (INC) x repeat 6 times [58] 

Round 4: SC in next 58 ST [58] 

Body after finishing round 4: 

Round 5-22 (18 rounds): SC in next 58 ST [58] 

Body after finishing round 22: 

Change yarn to dark orange colour. 

Round 23-32 (10 rounds): SC in next 58 ST [58] 

Round 33: SC in next 23 ST, (DEC) repeat 3 times, SC in next 23 ST, (DEC) repeat 3 times [52] 

Round 34: SC in next 20 ST, (DEC) repeat 3 times, SC in next 20 ST, (DEC) repeat 3 times, [46] 

Round 35: SC in next 17 ST, (DEC) repeat 3 times, SC in next 17 ST, , (DEC) repeat 3 times [40] 

Round 36: SC in next 14 ST, (DEC) repeat 3 times, SC in next 14 ST, (DEC) repeat 3 times [34] 

Finish off and leave long tail for sewing. 

Now stuff the body with the toy filling and using tapestry needle close the top off.

Legs

Make 2 legs out of white and light orange yarn. Start crocheting with white yarn and finish off with light orange yarn, work in continuous circles. 

Round 1: SC into magic ring [6] 

Round 2: (INC) x repeat 6 times [12] 

Round 3: (SC in next ST, INC) x repeat 6 times [18] 

Round 4: (SC in next 2 ST, INC) x repeat 6 times [24] 

Round 5: (SC in next 3 ST, INC) x repeat 6 times [30] 

Round 6-7: SC in next 30 ST [30] 

Round 8: (SC in next 3 ST, DEC) x repeat 6 times [24] 

Round 9: (SC in next 2 ST, DEC) x repeat 6 times [18] 

Round 10-12 (3 rounds): SC in next 18 ST [18] 

Leg after finishing 12 rounds: 

Change yarn to light orange colour now. 

Round 13-20 (8 rounds): SC in next 18 ST [18] 

Finish off and leave long tail for sewing.

Make 2 arms out of white and light orange yarn. Start crocheting with white yarn and then finish off with light orange yarn, work in continuous circles. 

Round 1: SC into magic ring [6] 

Round 2: (INC) x repeat 6 times [12] 

Round 3: (SC in next ST, INC) x repeat 6 times [18] 

Round 4: (SC in next 2 ST, INC) x repeat 6 times [24] 

Round 5-6: SC in next 24 ST [24] 

Round 7: (SC in next 2 ST, DEC) x repeat 6 times [18] 

Round 8-9: SC in next 18 ST [18] 

Arm after finishing round 9: 

Change yarn to light orange colour. 

Round 10-16 (7 rounds): SC in next 18 ST [18] 

Round 17: (SC in next 7 ST, DEC) x repeat 2 times [16] 

Round 18-19: SC in next 16 ST [16] 

Finish off and leave long tail for sewing.

Strip between eyes 

Make out of white yarn and work in rows. 

Start with chain of 5 stitches and begin crocheting from the second chain: 

Row 1: SC in next 4 ST [4] 

Row 2-5 (4 rows): CH 1, SC into the same ST, SC in next 3 ST [4] 

Row 6: CH 1, SC into the same ST, SC in next 2 ST, INC [5] 

Row 7: CH 1, SC into the same ST, SC in next 4 ST [5] 

Row 8: CH 1, SC into the same ST, SC in next 2 ST, INC, SC in next ST [6] 

Row 9-13 (5 rows): CH 1, SC into the same ST,  SC in next 5 ST [6] 

Finish off with long tail for sewing.

Make 2 ears out of dark orange yarn. Work in continuous circles. 

Round 1: 6 SC in magic ring [6] 

Round 2: (SC in next 2 ST, INC) repeat 2 times [8]

Round 4: (SC in next 4 ST, INC) repeat 2 times [12]

Round 2: SC in next 4 ST, (INC) repeat 3 times,  working on the other side of the chain: SC in next 4 ST, (INC) repeat 3 times [20] 

Round 3: SC in next 4 ST, (INC) repeat 6 times,  working on the other side of the chain: SC in next 4 ST, (INC) repeat 6 times, SC in next 4 ST [26] 

Finish off and leave long tail for sewing. 

Finished whites: 

Nose

Make nose out of white yarn and work in continuous circles: 

Round 1: 8 SC into magic circle [8] 

Round 2: (INC) repeat 8 times [16] 

Round 3: (SC in next ST, INC) repeat 8 times [24] 

Round 4-5: SC in next 24 ST [24] 

Finish off and leave long tail for sewing. 

White patch for the belly

Use white yarn and start with chain of 15 stitches. Start crocheting from the second chain and work in rows: 

Row 1: SC in next 14 ST [14] 

Row 2-9 (8 rows): CH 1, SC into the same ST, SC in next 13 ST [14] 

Row 10: CH 1, DEC, SC in next 10 ST, DEC [12] 

Row 11: CH 1, DEC, SC in next 8 ST, DEC [10] 

Finish off and leave long tail for sewing. 

Finished white patch for belly: 

Patches for the back

Make 2 patches out of dark orange yarn – 1 small patch and 1 big. 

Small patch 

Round 1: 6 SC into magic circle, SL ST into first ST [6] 

Finish off and leave tail for sewing. 

Big patch

Make out of dark orange yarn, start with chain of 6 stitches and begin crocheting from the second chain: 

Round 1: SC in next 4 ST, 3 SC into next ST; now working on another side of chain:  SC in next 4 ST, 3 SC into next ST [14] 

Round 2: SC in next 4 ST, (INC) repeat 3 times, SC in next 4 ST, (INC) repeat 3 times [20] 

Round 3: SC in next 4 ST, (INC) repeat 6 times, SC in next 4 ST, (INC) repeat 6 times [32] 

Round 4: SC in 32 ST [32] 

Finish off and leave tail for sewing. 

Finished back patches: 

Tail

Start with dark orange yarn and finish with light orange yarn, work in continuous circles. 

Round 1: 8 SC into magic circle [8] 

Round 2: (INC) repeat 8 times [16] 

Round 3-7 (5 rounds): SC in next 16 ST [16] 

Change yarn to light orange colour. 

Round 8-9: SC in next 16 ST [16] 

Round 10: (SC in next 6 ST, DEC) repeat 2 times [14] 

Round 11-17 (7 rounds): SC in next 14 ST [14] 

Finish off and leave long tail for sewing.

Assembly of crochet Bingo

Step 1: Using pins secure strip between eyes in the middle of the face as shown below in the picture. Afterwards, using tapestry needle attach it to the body: 

Step 2: Using tapestry needle attach ears insides to ears: 

Step 3: Using tapestry needle attach ears to the top of the body, approximately 4 stitches apart. Use some toy filling to stuff ears before closing (stuffing is not mandatory in this occasion): 

Step 4: After strip between eyes has been attached using pins attach nose to the face as centred as possible. Then using tapestry needle attach the nose to the body, stuff with toy filling before closing: 

Step 5: Using tapestry needle and black DK yarn embroider nose and smile as shown in the picture below: 

Step 6: Using black DK yarn and tapestry needle embroider pupils on whites as shown in the picture below: 

Step 7: Using pins secure eyes to the body as shown in the picture below. Afterwards, using tapestry needle attach eyes to the body: 

Step 8: Using pins secure white belly patch to the front of the body, approximately 2 rows below the nose. Afterwards, using tapestry needle attach patch to the body:

Step 9: Stuff only bottom of arms with toy filling and then using tapestry needle close them off: 

Step 10: Using tapestry needle attach arms to the body as shown in the pictures below. Attach approximately 8-9 stitches away from the nose each side: 

Step 11: Stuff bottom of the tail slightly with toy filling and using tapestry needle close it off:

Step 12: Using tapestry needle attach tail to the back of the body as shown in the picture below (approximately to round 10 from the bottom of the body): 

Step 13: Stuff only bottom of legs (approximately to the middle) with toy filling and using tapestry needle close them off: 

Step 14: Using tapestry needle attach legs to the bottom of the body, 1-2 stitches apart from each other: 

Step 15: Using pins secure back patches to the back. Afterwards, using tapestry needle attach them: 

Step 16: Using tapestry needle embroider eyebrows with white velvet yarn: 

And this was our last step.
